HOW IT WORKS

The primary ingredient in Upswing is the amino acid, L-Cysteine. L-Cysteine accelerates the breakdown of acetaldehyde, which is the toxic by-product of alcohol consumption. By reducing toxicity, L-Cysteine can help reduce discomfort from drinking, including headaches, nausea, anxiety, and fatigue.

In addition to L-Cysteine, Upswing contains eight vitamins specifically designed to replenish essential micronutrient levels, supporting normal psychological function, the immune system, and leading to a reduction in overall tiredness and fatigue. All of our health claims have been researched and approved by the European Food Safety Authority, and can be reviewed in the FAQ section of our website.

INGREDIENTS

L-CYSTEINE (1100MG): A naturally-occurring amino acid that helps the body metabolise acetaldehyde, which is the toxic by-product of alcohol consumption. L-Cysteine is the main ingredient in Upswing’s formulation.

VITAMIN C (160MG): Evidence shows that absorbing Vitamin C in combination with L-Cysteine creates powerful synergistic effects, further accelerating the breakdown of alcohol toxicity.

VITAMIN B1 (2.4MG): Drinking alcohol has been shown to reduce Vitamin B1 absorption. Deficiencies in B1 trigger irritability and anxiety, so supplementation before and after drinking is necessary.

VITAMIN B2 (2.8MG):  According to the US National Institutes of Health, Vitamin B2 counteracts alcohol-related discomfort in a variety of ways, including by reducing headaches, increasing energy, and boosting your body’s antioxidant defences.

VITAMIN B3 (32MG): Alcohol consumption has been linked to a reduction in the body’s levels of Vitamin B3. A depletion of this vitamin causes anxiety, irritability, apprehension, and fatigue.

VITAMIN B6 (2.8MG): Vitamin B6 plays a key role in keeping the brain and nervous system functioning properly. It is also involved in the production of haemoglobin, which helps the blood carry oxygen throughout the body.

FOLIC ACID (400μG): This vitamin helps maintain a strong nervous system and works in combination with Vitamin B12, forming healthy red blood cells needed to carry oxygen around the body.

VITAMIN B12 (5μG): This vitamin is crucial to the functioning of the brain and the nervous system. It’s inclusion in the formula helps maintain normal cognitive function the day after drinking.
